Since the holiday season is here, I want to share with you a classic 1892 Tidewater Farmhouse. The home celebrates architectural history, family, travel and personal collections – all things we love especially this time of year. With three sons now grown, the owners were ready for a few updates. They wanted a beautiful home, but it had to be livable and comfortable. The stunning foyer was our starting point.
Recently refinished, the dramatic staircase is original to the house. Its curved handrail was crafted by soaking the wood in the nearby waters of the Rappahannock River, then bent.
The tribal runner, purchased by the owners several years ago on a trip to Central America, brings a casual flair.
A Guatemalan pillow plus pink velvet ones add color and texture to the newly reupholstered settee.
For a finishing touch, we selected streamlined accessories to showcase the homeowners’ eclectic collection of antique furnishings.
